CapMetro’s Pickup is a hit for employees at the Austin Lighthouse! Since it’s debut on January 14, Pickup Dove Springs has received over 200 requests to and from the Lighthouse’s two Pickup stop locations.
Pickup is a limited-area shared ride shuttle service that offers on-demand transit service that allows customers to schedule a ride to appointments, grocery stores, local bus stops, parks or anywhere inside a service zone. There are 11 service zones in the Austin area.
For those living in Dove Springs, a southeast Austin neighborhood where the Austin Lighthouse headquarters and its Lippman Center skin care production building is located, customers receive door to door service to locations inside the zone bordered by I-35 on the west, TX-71 on the north, Blue Meadow on the south and the greenbelt on the east. The stop for the Lighthouse headquarters is located at 4512 Pleasant Valley Road just pass the lobby doors. There are two benches marking the spot and providing a place to rest while you wait for your ride. The stop for the Lippman Center, located at 2307 Business Center Drive, is on the corner of Industrial Drive and Business Center. Signage is coming soon.
Get Moving
To use the Pickup service, request a ride directly from your phone through the app or by calling a Pickup Service Center at 512-369-6200. Each ride is $1.25, the same as a single ride pass on Metro Bus or Metro Rapid. Metro Access and 31-day bus passes will cover the ride as well.
