The leadership team is dedicated to ensuring we meet our mission to assist people in building or restoring their independence through skills training, education and employment opportunities that encourages them to be gainfully employed, become involved in their local community, and give voice to blind and visually-impaired Texans.

Jim Meehan, President & CEO
Jim Meehan retired from the U.S. Navy as a submarine Supply Officer in 1998. For the past 25+ years he has provided leadership in the AbilityOne program with three agencies.
For sixteen years while at the Virginia Industries for the Blind he led the agencies mission delivery, manufacturing operations at two sites, service contracts and retail operations in eleven Base Supply Stores. He then spent four years at Goodwill Industries of San Antonio leading the retail division and services division for two years each, with a combined 1,200 employees.
Since 2018, Jim has been at the Austin Lighthouse and became CEO in 2019.
Jim holds a BBA in Finance and an MBA from National University in San Diego, CA. Jim is married to Johnette Lee, together they have seven children and thirteen grandchildren.

Meg Morreale, Chief Financial Officer
Meg Morreale, CPA, CFO, most recently served as the Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Baylor Scott and White Health, the largest non-profit health system in the state of Texas. She was an integral part of Baylor’s 2019 First Care Health Plan acquisition, streamlining the accounting, finance, and operational teams to achieve $50M in synergies. Meg also led the effort to produce financial dashboards for the Executive team, to achieve real time financial metric reporting through Power BI.
As a leader, Meg takes an entrepreneurial approach developing and implementing forecasting, budgeting, and month end reporting models to improve efficiencies and productivity. In her 25+ years of accounting and finance experience, Meg has held progressive positions in engineering services, consumer products, a medical device start-up and healthcare.
She holds a BS in Industrial Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a registered CPA in the state of Texas.
Meg enjoys spending time with her husband, John, their three children and their dog Pandora.

Al Perales, Chief Commercial Officer
Al began his career as an IBM system engineer. After 12 years there he co-founded Expert Business Systems which was sold to InteliMark, the IT division of Staffmark. He then became General Manager of Microsoft’s Latin American and South Pacific Product Support and Services Group. He was responsible for the operations and delivery of services and product support in 5 languages to 14 Latin American counties, New Zealand, and Australia, as well as the 2nd largest Microsoft facility in the U.S.
Al sold his consulting practice in 2019 to join the Austin Lighthouse. He and his wife Karen have three children.

Annabeth Adame,
VP of Human Resources
As Vice President of Human Resources, Annabeth (Beth) Adame leads the human resources, benefits, safety, compensation, and training efforts for Austin Lighthouse. Beth began her career in restaurant management but moved quickly into the field where her passion truly lies – human resource management. With 20+ years of experience in HR leadership positions, Beth joined the Austin Lighthouse HR team in April 2021.
Beth’s HR experience includes roles in nonprofit, international (Alliance Abroad Group, LP/Alliance Abroad International) and domestic retail (Nordstrom). She holds a B.S. in Business from Northern Arizona University. She is a member of the Austin HR Management Association and the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
A self-proclaimed military brat, she has lived and travelled broadly, but still calls Texas ‘home.’ She is an avid volunteer, supporting causes as close as Austin and as far away as rural India. Beth has one son, Diego, who is studying Architectural Engineering. In their spare time, they enjoy visiting UNISCO sites such as The Giants Causeway and Machu Picchu.

Vince Boyd, VP of Mission Services
Vince Boyd, retired US Army – Behavioral Science Division, served as Director of Rehab Programs for 23 years at San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. Developed several programs while at the Lighthouse: School to Work Program, a Vocational Training Program for high school students; School of Business a 6-week program for the visually impaired, this school was also approved for DOL customers; Senior Program; O&M Internship; Ticket to Work Program for Social Security Recipients; Sewing Assessment Programs.
He has worked in the Human Services Field for over 40 years. While in the Army worked in several career fields: Fort Jackson, SC, served as Senior Social Worker at Community Mental Health; Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Frankfurt, Germany; Maximum Security Counselor, United States Disciplinary Barracks, Fort Leavenworth, KS; Assignment officer for Behavioral Science Specialist at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI. Chief Instructor at Army Medical Department Center and School, Behavioral Science Division, Fort Sam Houston, TX. Served in Desert Storm Desert Shield Campaign.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Rehabilitation Counseling and a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Kelly Schaber, Director of Development
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in International Trade and Marketing with a Minor in Ethics and Sustainability from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She earned a Master of Arts in Human Dimensions of Organizations from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em!), a degree that draws on disciplines in the humanities and social and behavioral sciences to understand people’s behaviors, inspirations, and motivations.
Before transitioning into the nonprofit sector, Kelly spent over a decade as an entrepreneur, owning and operating a bespoke jewelry business in New York City’s Diamond District. Her passion for people and purpose-driven work ultimately brought her to Austin, where she now leads fundraising, communications, media, marketing, and donor engagement efforts at Austin Lighthouse. She enjoys weaving storytelling into her communications to showcase the profound impact the organization has on the visually impaired community.
As a military spouse, she understands the unique challenges faced by military families and is passionate advocate for mental health initiatives and community-based resources.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys cheering on Austin FC, hiking, yoga, and spending time with her husband, Brian, stepson, Niko, and their dachshunds, Wesley and Whiskey.

Brendan Power,
Vice President of Operations
Brendan oversees daily operations and champions process improvement to support the organization’s mission. With more than two decades of management experience and over 15 years in aerospace defense manufacturing, Brendan brings a wealth of knowledge in operational efficiency, team leadership, and strategic growth. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with advanced training from Lockheed Martin, equipping him with proven expertise in streamlining processes and driving performance.
In 2019, Brendan relocated from Southern California to Texas with his wife and three children and has been part of the Austin Lighthouse family ever since. His blend of professional rigor and personal dedication reflects his commitment to fostering both organizational excellence and a strong, mission-driven community.

Jacob Guzman,
Vice President of Logistics
Jacob brings over 30 years of experience in high-volume distribution environments and has been a cornerstone of Austin Lighthouse since joining in 1998. Starting as one of the original five employees in the organization’s first 16,000 sq. ft. warehouse, he helped launch its inaugural government contract, the Virtual Prime Vendor Accessories (VPVA). His leadership grew alongside the organization earning promotions from supervisor to Stock Control Manager and eventually Senior Manager, as operations expanded across the South-Central United States and worldwide. In 2018, Jacob guided the transition into a new 450,000 sq. ft. facility, taking on the roles of Director of Warehousing and later Vice President of Logistics. Today, he oversees 3PL operations, Facilities, and Warehouse & Distribution, ensuring critical support for both military supply chains and the organization’s mission of creating jobs and independence for people who are blind and visually impaired.
A committed advocate for the mission of Austin Lighthouse, Jacob was recognized as Manager of the Year in both 2012 and 2019.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is an avid football enthusiast, enjoys fishing, and values family time with his wife of 30 years, their two remarkable adult children, and their grandson.
