Austin Lighthouse for the Blind recently welcomed representatives from Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support for an onsite visit focused on audit readiness, inventory management, and operational collaboration.
As a proud Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partner, Austin Lighthouse supports DLA Troop Support’s mission to maintain optimal readiness and deliver uninterrupted support to the Warfighter. A key part of this partnership involves ensuring our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) systems seamlessly interact with DLA systems and align with established operational requirements and policies.

During the visit, members of the DLA Troop Support team toured our facilities, learned more about our inventory management systems, observed daily warehouse operations, and reviewed the processes that support accountability, efficiency, and operational readiness.
The visit also serves as an important step in preparation for an upcoming site review by Ernst & Young (EY), DLA’s independent public auditor. This collaborative effort reflects the shared commitment between Austin Lighthouse and DLA Troop Support to maintaining strong operational and financial oversight.
Along with Troop Support’s Audit Readiness team, Troop Support Deputy Commander Mr. Christopher Mosher and Clothing & Textiles Deputy Director Mr. Steven Merch participated in the visit to observe operations at Austin Lighthouse’s 3PL warehouse and demonstrate their support for DLA’s ongoing audit readiness efforts and operational excellence initiatives.
Austin Lighthouse is proud to support DLA Troop Support through reliable logistics operations and a continued commitment to excellence, accountability, and service.
