We’re nearing the Christmas season, but we can’t stop thinking about the creativity of our employees who entered this year’s Halloween costume contest. From the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man to a lawyer embodying the spirit of Outkast’s hit song, “So Fresh, So Clean;” our employees truly went all out and we were blown away.
After weeks of deliberation, our Events committee is thrilled to announce the top three winners of our employee costume contest. Without further ado, let’s meet our winners.
Costume Contest Winners
1st Place – Alberto Gonzales, El Catrin
Alberto, a deafblind employee from our Regional Logistic Support Center in Taylor, takes home the top prize for his El Catrin costume. He’s wearing a top hat, a skull mask and a mariachi costume.
La Catrina, Mexico’s Lady of Death, and the male counterpart, el Catrin, is one of the most recognizable symbols of Dia de los Muertos celebrations held in Mexico and across the globe. Many dress up as these skeletal figures featuring calavera or skull makeup in celebration and commemoration of those who have passed.
2nd Place – Cristy Van Hook, Clown
3PL Customer Service Manager Cristy Van Hook showed off her whimsical side in a fun and vibrant clown costume. She wore a long red tunic with large white polka dots, white leggings and a rainbow wig that added the perfect finishing touch.
3rd Place – Shirley Tesby, Tina Turner
What’s love got to do with it? Absolutely everything when it comes to Shirley Tesby’s Tina Turner costume! Shirley, a blind production worker at our Lippman Center skin care building, dazzled as the legendary Queen of Rock & Roll in a blonde wig and 70’s inspired floral jacket and flare-leg pants.
