Halloween Fun at Austin Lighthouse!

Our annual Costume Contest brought out some serious creativity this year! From spooky to silly to downright impressive, our team went all out to celebrate Halloween across all locations.

After everyone submitted their costume photos, our executive team voted to choose this year’s winner — but there were so many fun entries that I wanted to share a few of my personal favorites, too!

Costume Contest Winner: Jessy Dussetschleger – Airsoft Soldier

Jessy in black body armor with a vest, kneepads, gloves, utility belt with tactical gear and a full face helmet with tinted visor.

Jessy took home this year’s top prize with his Airsoft Soldier costume—complete with full tactical gear, helmet, and accessories that looked ready for a mission. Jessy’s attention to detail and realistic setup made this costume a standout favorite among the judges.

Dilia Salinas and guide dog Caden – Blue and Steve from Blue’s Clues

Dilia wears a blue dress with dark spots, a painted black nose and a headband with blue ears and antennas. She's holding a red notebook sitting next to her uide dog Caden who wears a g green and white striped harness.

Dilia and her guide dog, Caden, completely won me over with their matching costumes. Dilia dressed as Blue, while Caden showed up as Steve — complete with a striped shirt. And the handy dandy notebook Dilia’s holding – this was almost too cute to take!

Flora Spikes – Chucky from Child’s Play

Flora dressed as Chucky wearing blue overall-style dress, striped shirt, knee-high red socks and red converse.

Flora brought a perfect mix of spooky and fun with her take on the classic horror doll, Chucky. From the striped shirt to the bright red Converse, she nailed the details and brought the fright in style!

Chris Perkins – Willie Nelson

Chris dressed as Willie Nelson with a long gray beard and two braids, wearing a red bandana and a striped blue and brown shirt. He's holding an acoustic guitar.

Chris’s Willie Nelson costume had me smiling instantly — the braids, the bandana, and the guitar all came together for a pitch-perfect tribute to a Texas legend. He really looks just like the guy!

Felicia Gonzalez – Wicked Witch

Felicia is wearing a long black velvet dress and a matching cape with hood. Her face is painted green.

Felicia brought her A-game with a classic Wicked Witch look. The green face paint, velvet cape and flowy black dress made it everything a Halloween costume should be — fun, dramatic and a little spooky!

Teresa McFalls – Woody from Toy Story

Teresa McFalls dressed as Woody from Toy Story with cowboy hat and sheriff badge.

Teresa went all-out as Woody from Toy Story! The cowboy hat, sheriff’s badge, and cheerful energy made this one such a fun nod to a beloved character.

Jerome Payton – Scary Clown

Jerome went for full fright mode in this terrifying look — a cloaked figure with a monstrous mask and massive axe. A spooky standout!

Brian Jones – African Prince

Brian Jones wearing a colorful dashiki and hat, holding a white cane.

Brian brought cultural pride and color to the celebration with his vibrant African prince ensemble. His patterned dashiki and matching hat made for one of the day’s most striking looks.
