Voting with a Disability

Travis County is dedicated to ensuring all polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.

Ballot Marking Devices (BMDs) are accessible and are equipped with a Braille pad on the left. Additionally, headphones will be provided at each polling station so that voters can have their ballots read back to them.

Poll workers are trained to assist voters during the voting process, although they are not permitted to mark selections on behalf of the voter. If a voter requires assistance, they may bring someone who is not a poll worker to help them vote, and that individual will need to complete an Oath of Assistance.
