Technology Training Center
At Austin Lighthouse, our adaptive technology training courses empower people with vision loss to access the digital world with confidence. Whether you are seeking computer skills for a career or simply want to get more out of your smartphone, our expert instructors are here to guide you every step of the way. Adaptive technology is constantly evolving, and we make sure our participants are equipped with up-to-date skills and tools.
By providing training on the latest technology available, our clients are able to explore ways to make their phones, computers, and other devices easier to use at work or to connect with friends and family. We work with clients to assess their initial skill levels and offer one-on-one courses on adaptive technology to learn and enhance computer skills. Before starting a class, all potential clients will sign a technology agreement.
We offer several forms of personalized technology training for visually impaired individuals, including instruction with screen readers, magnification devices, and specialized software. With a focus on real-world applications, our adaptive technology training includes both foundational and advanced digital literacy, ensuring that each individual feels comfortable and prepared.
