What is Lighthouse Gives?
The Lighthouse Gives Program is Austin Lighthouse’s community giving initiative, dedicated to supporting organizations that reflect our core values of empowerment, inclusivity, and accessibility.
Each year, we provide funding to nonprofits that:
- Empower the blind and visually impaired community
- Promote accessibility and inclusiveness
- Support the well-being of Austin Lighthouse employees and their families

At Austin Lighthouse, our mission goes beyond our walls. We believe in creating a more inclusive and accessible community by partnering with organizations that uplift and empower. Through Lighthouse Gives, we’re shining a light on programs that make our world brighter, more equitable, and more connected.
How It Works
Apply Online – Complete our simple application form.
Quarterly Deadlines – Applications are reviewed in four cycles each fiscal year.
Committee Review – Our Lighthouse Gives Committee scores applications based on impact and alignment with our giving pillars.
Funding & Reporting – Selected organizations receive support and share impact reports at year’s end.

Registered nonprofits (501(c)(3)) providing services to our employees or programs that promote accessibility, inclusivity, or serve the blind/visually-impaired community and organizations serving Central Texas.
Grants typically range from $500–$2,500
Applications are accepted during quarterly windows. Applications outside these periods roll into the next cycle.
To ensure equitable distribution of funds, each organization is limited to one grant award per fiscal year (Oct–Sept). If your application is not selected in one cycle, you may apply again in a future cycle within the same year.
A committee scores applications based on alignment with giving pillars, impact, feasibility, and employee engagement opportunities.
Yes, recipients must submit a brief impact report by September 1 to share outcomes and program highlights.
Yes, organizations may reapply annually, with priority consideration for first-time applicants and high-impact projects.
Notifications are sent 3–4 weeks after the application deadline.
