• What is the race distance?

  The race is a 5K, however, it is a little short of 3.1 miles. It is NOT a certified course.

• What is the course like?

  Participants will be running on the Onion Creek Hike & Bike Trail. The trail is paved and mostly flat. There is one short uphill.

• Is the course stroller or pet friendly?

  Both! We welcome small humans, pets, and anyone else who would like to participate.

• How do I register?

  You can register online HERE or by contacting Katie Lenns at katie.lenns@austinlighthouse.org. You may register as an individual or as a family.

• Can I register on race day?

  We strongly recommend that you register in advance, but you can register on race day, as well.

• What’s included in my registration?

  Your entry fee covers:

  • Admission to the park
  • Race shirt
  • Race bib and safety pins
  • Participation medal
  • Water and snacks

• When and where do I pick up my race packet?

  You will receive your shirt and your bib and safety pins at registration on race day. We do not have early packet pickup.

• Is my registration fee tax-deductible?

  Your registration fee is not tax deductible, but any donation you make at the race is.

• Can I make an additional donation?

  Always! You can make an additional donation below. We will also have QR codes on-site that will take you to our donation page.

Race Day Details

• What time should I arrive?

  Check-in opens at 8:00 AM. We recommend arriving at least 30-45 minutes before start so you have time to register, attach your bib to your shirt, and warm up.

• Where do I go when I arrive?

  Look for our tournament registration tables near the parking lot and shuttle drop-off. Volunteers will give you further direction once you’re checked in.

• Is there a bag check or place to store belongings?

  We do NOT have a bag check or place to store belongings. Please only come with what you intend to have on you during the race.

• What happens if it rains?

  The race will go on, rain or shine.

• Are headphones allowed?

  Yes, headphones are allowed. We just ask that you set your volume at a level that you can still hear the participants around you.

• Are walkers welcome?

  Yes! Feel free to take on the course at any pace.

• Is the course timed? If so, how are results posted?

  The course is timed. We will share a link on our website where you can view your results.

• Are there water stations on the course?

  There are two water stations on the course, and there will be both cups and bottles of water available before and after the race.

• Are there mile markers?

  Yes, there will be signs at miles 1 and 2.

• Will there be medical support or first aid available?

  Yes, we will have an ambulance on-site to provide medical support if needed.

• Can I bring my dog or run with a stroller?

  Yes! We welcome both dogs and strollers.

• What’s available at the finish line?

  After you cross the finish line and receive your medal, volunteers will direct you to our expo area. There will be free water, fruit, other snacks and drinks, donuts for purchase, exhibitor booths, and an awards ceremony.

• Will there be awards or age group prizes?

  Yes, we have awards! Here are the categories:

  Top finisher in divisions:

  • Golden Glow: Esteemed (50+)
  • Torchbearers: Adults (30+49)
  • Rising Lights: Young Adults (18-30)
  • Spark Starters: Teens (13-17)
  • Little Luminaries: Kids (12 & below)
  • Shining Strides: Walking Division – all genders

• Where and when will results be posted?

  We will share a link with results on our website. Check back soon!

• Will restrooms be available nearby?

  There will be porta-potties on-site.
