New Products Mean New Jobs!

Lighthouse workers are busy producing the nylon Rigger Belts for the U.S. Department of Defense. These special belts are made in six different colors and are used by the US Army, US Marine Corps, and US Air Force. The Marines use five of the various colored belts as "ranking" belts in their martial arts program. Beginners will be issued tan belts. Advanced troops will receive gray, green, brown, and, finally, black belts. The upper ranking rigger's belts will also have rank stripes attached to indicate instructors or level of proficiency. Top rank is a black belt with six red stripes. Don't mess with that Marine!! We expect to begin offering a cotton version of the Rigger Belt in 2007. Also, the Lighthouse recently added several new items to the Texas state-use commodity list that will provide jobs for a few more folks at the Lighthouse. We have increased the range of Smartshield SPF 30 Sunblock /Sunscreen products. Specially formulated for the outdoor worker, Smartshield is excellent for year round protection from the sun's harmful rays. Offering a sunscreen product to workers is one important step employers can take to meet OSHA guidelines for employee safety where possible overexposure to the sun has been determined to be a hazard.

We began delivering our new Orange-scented hand cleaner with pumice in late 2006 and will soon have the new foaming hand and body soaps available on the State commodity list. These products will help round out our line of skin care products.
